Henk is director at Vilans, professor at VU University Amsterdam and member of the Quality Council, a committee that advises on the quality of care in the Netherlands. I like to argue for forms of care and support in society itself. Solutions that are in-between professional and informal and that are tackled within the care sector, but also outside the care sector. Examples are initiatives by citizens who organise and contract their own care and welfare, care-exchange agreements between people in the neighbourhood, companies that employ people with a mental disability or art activities by vulnerable people.
