Mechanisms of Linguistic Bias

In this longterm project we study the linguistic means by which people share stereotypic information associated with social categories. In often quite subtle ways, our language reflects, constructs and maintains beliefs about social categories. By studying language use, we can thus gain important insight in the occurrence and development of social category stereotypes within cultural groups.
