By zooming in on the process of clinical decision-making in the ICU department of a large university hospital and observing how healthcare professionals deal with interpreting, justifying and ultimately trusting (or not) algorithmic output, I shed light on changes in daily (clinical) practice under the pressure of AI algorithm implementation. This makes it possible to investigate the added value of the technology on clinical decision making and provides opportunities to increase the effectiveness of the implementation.
