Parisa AkbarzadehPoladi wins Rotterdam Woman of the Year Award

Rotterdam is home to many great women who work in different areas but share the same goal; creating a better society for Rotterdam. For the fourth consecutive year, the Huis der Zotheid organized the Rotterdam Woman of the Year awards for International Women’s Day. More than 1,400 people voted, and our ‘house artist’ Parisa AkbarzadehPoladi emerged as the winner in the Art and Culture category.
For the Refugee Academy, Parisa makes drawings of the different meetings. For the masterclass we organized in November and December last year, for example, she made the that you can see below. She draws and paints in a surprising, bold and cheerful way the beauty of everyday life, the environment and the people who live in it. Examples of Parisa’s work can be found on her Instagram page.
The coming months, Parisa will be busy again making wonderful art for the Refugee Academy.
